Owner and Manager Darrell Gibbs previous experience in the industry stems from 17 years working for a major diesel engine company before transferring to a hydraulic business for 7 years. He formed Benbri in 2012, starting from his backyard shed before moving to a site in Malcomson Street, then expanding further to the site now occupied in Slade Point.
Darrell has managed to continually grow the business while remaining intentionally compact, to offer the standard of service we are known for. This means Benbri retain quality over quantity when it comes to staff and Darrell is never too busy to personally oversee important aspects of service or client enquiry or follow up. The reputation for providing quality repairs and service is what has enabled Benbri to grow and remain competitive within the industry.
We have become a notable player in the Air, Hydraulic, Lubrication, Hydrocarbons and Pneumatic industries, and have successfully established a strong customer base within the Underground, Open cut Mining sectors, Oil Companies, Sugar Mills and workshops, offering personalised service with an emphasis on exceeding our customer expectations.
Benbri understands that our clients’ success relies upon the ongoing reliability and efficiency of their equipment. Our business depends on the success of our customers. To obtain this, we work with high levels of enthusiasm and care to ensure our customers’ expectations are met. Our trained and qualified technicians are focused on delivering a 24 Hour/ 7 Days a week timeframe of support and availability, quick response on all enquiries, repairs and Maintenance for all industries and fully understand time constraints on equipment downtime
We offer a range of systems from Fluid dispensing and Pumping products including Air Compressors, Hydraulic pumps, cylinders and Motors, Hydraulic tooling repairs and calibrations, Automatic Lubrication systems, Hose Reeling systems, Fuel and Oil meters, Fast Refuelling and Oil service technologies.
Benbri Air and Fluid Systems is also registered with Australian Government for Trades and Measures, this allows us to calibrate meters and pumps for the Mining and retail sectors.
While the business is small, Benbri is by no means insignificant. In fact, we are proud to be heavy hitters in the hydraulic repair industry, with contracts as far afield as Papua New Guinea. We are happy to travel, regularly servicing clients from Rockhampton to Townsville, and west to Longreach. “Members of our team travel to PNG every three months, spending 7 to 10 days there to service and repair hydraulic components and Compressors in large gold mines. An area we work in is only 20km south of the equator, so it’s a completely different environment.”
Not only does Darrell have respect for his customers, he treats his team in the same way. “I believe it is important for employees to have a voice and know that they’ve been heard. Their ideas are valuable and each individual effort contributes greatly to the success of the business overall.” Our employees are committed to our customer’s needs and requests, we have established great relationships with many of our customers who have taken us along with their career journey.
Darrell believes in reinvesting into the industry’s future, by offering opportunities for apprentices who are “passionate about what we do.” Finding the best in the business and retaining good staff has been key to our reputation for excellent service. To continually improve on the service we deliver, all technicians receive up to-date training on all products the business is involved in, so everyone is skilled in all products. Much of the specialised training is provided by our suppliers who are experts in the equipment Benbri sell and service.
Benbri also believes in giving back to the community, helping those less fortunate than ourselves. We support Charity organisations such as Salvation Army, Black Dog, Special Children’s Christmas Party, Postie Bike Safari, Mustang Australia, Farleigh RSL, and Drought Angels, as well as sponsoring sporting and local organisations such as Northern Beaches Bowls Club.
Our support also extends to local schools, assisting in Vocational education and work-based programs.
We cherish the friendships we have made along our journey and look forward to making many more. Our goal has always been to assist our customers, colleagues and friends to ensure that when issues arise, wherever they maybe, they can call Benbri for assistance and know that we are here for any of life’s challenges.
